Windsurfing: Secret Spot Tanner Lane nr Lymington Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 14/20 Surf / Sea State: smooth then choppy Air Temperature: 24 Sea Temperature: 17 Weather: sunny Max Speed: 25.46 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 27 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
After a top top bike ride from our great overnight spot near Hurst Castle
around the lovely Lymington area :) we heat over to the 'Secret Spot' and
this time the wind was in better direction sw and abit stronger. I rigged
7.8 and took out the Xantos, it was abit light to start with but the breeze
filled in and I took on the beat up to Lymington in search of some flat
water, I had to coross the narrow harbour entrance evoiding three ferries
!!! As the high was now high the area of flat water had chopped up a little
and the wind was at it's lightest close in. I then set off on a mega broad
reach back, I took a small detour first heading over to the Isle of Wight
before heading back to Mag. It was an interested crossing og the Solent as
I had to sail astern a large private yacht in the style of the Britannia
!!! I was then faced with 20 + large racing yachts heading down the Solent,
decided to sail behind the leading boat, then bear away missing the second
boat by a good margin :) The wind had really filled in now but because the
tide was high it had chopped up :( A couple of windsurfers and a kitesurfer
had arrived to enjoy the top day but we had to back up and head to Haywards
Heath to pick up anothe 133 Xantos befoer heading home - a top top few days
down South :)
Friday 4th July - we are back home in Felixstowe and I go to use my lovely
new uj and discover the black extension missing !!!! :( :( :( I must have
left it at Tanner Lane - if anyone picked it up please email me -
squirrell4@talktalk.net - thank you.
